1964 Marx, Marx-a-Score Skee Ball, Sealed in Original Box

1964 Marx, Marx-a-Score Skee Ball, Sealed in Original Box

Nearly three feet long, this all metal lithographed tinplate Automatic Skee Ball toy manufactured by Marx has never been removed from its factory sealed box. Dubbed "Marx-a-Score" it uses a patented mechanical "self-totaling" scoring mechanism. Terrific early 60's graphics on both sides.

The toy was manufactured at Marx's Glen Dale, WV plant. The box is marked with the circular Marx logo which was revised in the third quarter of 1964. There's no zip code on the box. However, It still has its original Marx SKU shipping sticking on one end. The sticker was printed with the revised Magic Marxie Marx logo and has a zip code in the address. This combination of details indicates that the toy was manufactured some time before September, 1964, but not shipped until later in the year (or possibly a different year altogether).

One end of the box has all of its original factory staples still in place. The opposite end is still factory glued, but the staples were removed. It's still securely sealed and contents factory packed.

Size: 32" x 12" x 3½". Weight: approx. 7 pounds.
